My heater still doesn’t work. Well it did for a few days. But now the thermostat is shot or something. I usually don’t mind renting. But it totally sucks when you have to go through the proper channels to get stuff fixed. Especially now that I have a cat to worry about at home. I hate having to lock her in the bathroom during the day when someone comes over and I’m gone. Oh well.
Tonight’s conversation was a lively discussion about tomorrow’s inauguration. I’m not going to say much on it right now. Mainly because I have some homework that needs to get done. But honestly, why is it a spectacle? It’s politics. Not a concert. How about we pay attention to the importance and seriousness of tomorrow as opposed to turning our president-to-be into a celebrity. The Obama paraphernalia is sickening. Obama bobble head? Obama doll? We saw an infomercial last night for the ever-desired Obama coin. And this really isn’t about Obama himself. I would be saying this if it were McCain’s face on the coin. Why are we idolizing our president-elect? First of all…he’s a politician. As a nation, we must be critical and scrutinize our politicians and others in government to keep them in line. Obviously they lack in representing or even listening to us. More importantly, they need to be held accountable. Second of all, he hasn’t done a single thing yet. He isn’t even the president! At least not for 20 more hours.
This whole thing is frustrating and worrisome. The nation is losing focus. LA has Hollywood, India has Bollywood, and now Washington has turned into Pollywood. How about we just have our president sworn in and get to work fixing this country rather than partying it up with Beyonce?

I must say I’m a little surprised at the idolisation of BO – the chanting at some rallies sent a little shiver… the cult has rippled all over the world including our little piece of Africa – the adoration is undefined – as I indicated on my piece – I think the adoration is mostly based on expectation – a backlash against the Bush-led government.
Pollywood. ha ha ha.
